It Wasn’t Just A Dream
I was very inspired by Jasmine’s post about the importance of dreaming. Dreaming has always been a major part of my life. Growing up, I was incredibly shy and quiet. I spent a lot of time in my own head afraid to tell others anything about myself. Then I discovered drawing. I learned that I could speak through pictures. I became an artist because that’s how I could communicate best… it is still how I communicate best. People get to know me and my dreams through the art that I create: I absolutely love that. One of my dreams came true last year when I was selected as a DaVinci Wine’s Storyteller. I put my dream about returning to Italy out there… and the world answered back.
Its been nearly a year since the experience and I still have trouble believing it actually happened. I am thrilled to tell you that your own dreams of experiencing Italy and sharing your artistic voice can come true as they are looking for their 2013 DaVinci Wine Storytellers! There is so much I cherish from my time in Italy: delighting in the abundance of food and wine, laughing uncontrollably and sharing secrets with new friends over candlelight, smelling lavender in the air on our walks around Casale di Valle, licking gelato from my fingertips, kneading pizza dough and baking it in an outdoor brick oven, roaming the bustling marketplaces, having dinner right by the Mediterranean… the list is endless. The only regret I have is that Cory couldn’t come with me. The trip was just a few weeks after we got married. We joke that it was my honeymoon without him. He has never been to Italy… I must change this.
Italy will change your life. There is no place on Earth quite like it.
Today, I wanted to share photographs from my time spent in a real life fairytale…
