Happiest of Halloweens from the Dynamic Duo
Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved to dress up. Growing up, my mother always dressed me in something white, feminine and pure: a bride, an angel, a snow princess while my brother was always something that kicked ass: a sheriff, a power ranger, a teenage mutant ninja turtle. Sure, I liked feeling delicate and beautiful but sometimes I wanted to kick ass too and that can be hard to do in a million layers of tulle while balancing a diamond tiara on your head.
Cory had to work tonight, we decided that we would celebrate Halloween this past weekend. We decided to continue our photo booth tradition at The Ace, shared a beer and a few of our favorite sweet treats at The Hollywood Theater (we saw this), had an impromptu photo shoot around our neighborhood and then indulged in a bit of take-out at home while watching this masterpiece.
Some of other highlights of the day included a little girl spotting us at Whole Foods and shouting to her mom,”MOM, it’s BATMAN!” Cory then proceeded to say in his best Christian Bale voice, “I am Batman.” I was worried for a second she would start crying and run away but wow, was I wrong. She started cracking up with the sweetest little laugh. We walked past a few cafes and everyone had such stone faces but once they saw us in our costumes they grinned from ear to ear. Sure, they might have thought we were the biggest dorks on the planet, but being able to make them smile truly filled our hearts. After a gentleman exclaimed,’Look! It’s the dynamic duo,’ we knew our Halloween was a success and we could head home. If it wouldn’t had been so absurdly cold, we probably would have continued walking around the city all evening long.
What are your plans on All Hallows’ Eve? Do you have any special traditions? Are you dressing up!? Share a link if so because we would love to see you in your costumes!
