Things have been quiet around here lately, not because of lack of things to share (quite the opposite really) but because I have been stuck in bed since November 8th. I’m not sure how exactly, but I really messed up my neck and shoulders. As an artist, I’m used to having neck and shoulder pain from crouching over drawing boards or sitting and editing for hours at a time. But this time, the pain was so intense I couldn’t move my neck or stand up completely straight. I had a session with my massage therapist (go see her, she is the BEST) a few days ago and am seeing my doctor next week so hopefully I’m officially on the mend. All of this has been so frightening. I have felt so powerless. I have always used my hands and body to create my art and the thought of not being able to physically do it is just devastating.

But I know that this is temporary and I have many things to look forward to. We are both so excited for the holidays, Cory’s birthday is coming at the end of the month and if we’re lucky he may be moving into new levels in his professional career. He’s been on a few interviews over the past couple weeks, so fingers crossed!

And now, a few links we are endlessly enraptured with this week…

Inspired by how our grandparents lived. And of course, Bat Kidand the incredible people of Make-A-Wish (and San Francisco) that made it happen.

Dreaming of a little weekend away in Seattle. Been eager to try out Bar SajorCrumble & Flake and Freeway Park.

Can’t wait for THANKSGIVING! Sweet potatoes, turkey and pie are just a few of the things I’m looking forward to.

Wouldn’t mind having every single piece in the Mod Dolly Collection.

Can’t wait to go back to new Heart Roasters

Oh no — hope you feel better soon!! That can be such a frustrating experience. Glad to hear things are looking up in other areas though — I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you both!
