A Festive Break
“I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys. “
Taking a few moments to come in from the blustery, cold wind whipped streets to enjoy some of our favorite places decorated in holiday fashion has been a highlight of our holiday season. We don’t really have too many decorations up this year, though we usually have a bunch. Our home has been in a transitional phase with lots of painting and changes happening for months, which are honestly taking forever. I can only blame myself though for the time line. My priorities have been a little here and there and I’ve been focusing mostly on job searching, going on interviews and feeling crazy in between. Going out to places like Coava with their huge tree and the beautiful gorgeous golden light coming through their windows, helps bring me back into a more centered place. I think the perfect gift I could receive this year would be to move into a new career that would allow me to feel fulfilled and give me the opportunity to give back the love and support given to me by my family, friends and community. I received so much wonderful, positive response on my post on my current job search situation it got me to thinking about what I have to give back in the world. I’m doing my best to continue to exude positivity and be there for those who need me, but I know I can do better. I know some really big, amazing change is right around the corner for us and I am excited to jump head first into it all.
