Ready for the Weekend

‘I have never in my life found myself in a situation where I’ve stopped work and said, ‘Thank God it’s Friday.’ But weekends are special even if your schedule is all over the place. Something tells you the weekend has arrived and you can indulge yourself a bit.’

– Helen Mirren

Isn’t Helen Mirren a goddess? And so smart! We always try to take a little time during our weekends together to indulge a bit. We picked up a bar of chocolate, our favorite tea and plan on having a little House marathon since the entire series is on Netfilx right now.

Other weekend happenings? Cory and I will be picking up some new book cases for my mountains of books that are currently piled on the floor of our new home. Now, to most people bookshelves are probably not that exciting… but to me they mean so much. In the last two places Cory and I lived we knew they were temporary so it seemed silly to settle in. Now that we know we will be staying in our current place longer than a year we are ready truly make it our own space which means my books need to go up! What are you up to this weekend?

I could not agree more!! This week has been such a long one, I can’t wait to go home and cuddle up with Jeremy and watch some netflix 🙂 And yay bookcases!!! Furniture shopping is SO much fun!! We’ve been looking at desk chairs lately, and there are some really neat ones out there.

UGH, don’t even get me started on desk chairs!! I need one so badly but they are either ugly as sin or ridiculously overpriced. I do really like some of the ones at West Elm. Let me know if you come across any I should check out…

The photos were lovely and I absolutely adored the Helen Mirren quote. What she said made me realise that I do that, too. 🙂

buying bookcases sounds super exciting 🙂 the apartments i’ve lived in were all temporary too so I feel you on the whole “i’m not buying real furniture yet” thing. that’s so exciting! and these photos are so dreamy- i love the soft colors.

Ahh what gorgeous, fresh springtime photos!

I’m right there with you on those weekend Netflix marathons… what was life like before Netflix?? 😉

And I just spent five minutes oohing and ahhing at cute farm animals. Thanks for sharing! xx

Aw, thank you Christine!! Springtime is so magical. I’m missing it already. Those blooms seem to fade too quickly. Seriously: I have no clue how I got by without Netflix. It pains me to watch tv series without having access to entire seasons, haha! Aren’t those animals the sweetest!!? Can’t get over it…
