An Early Morning with Bridge & Burn

I’m a low maintenance person. At least I like to think so. I like my clothes to fit, not be to baggy or tight, and be utilitarian to some extent. This means I’m not only wearing my clothes to look good, but for their usefulness as well. I usually have a hard time shopping for clothes that fit me because I am not a standard fit. I am tall, standing at about six feet three inches, but I’m also not thin, so I have big burly footballer shoulders and a thick chest. My torso isn’t as long as it should be for someone my width. Finding shirts and jackets that actually fit like they should is a challenge.

There was, however, no challenge when trying on my new Bridge & Burn Depoe Indigo Herringbone Button Up and Townshend Navy JacketThe button up runs slim, which means I stepped up from my usual medium into a large, but once that sizing was settled, it was perfect structure and comfort while not hanging off of me. I particularly like the high, structure of the collar. Too many of my collared shirts deflate and wrinkle, but this one holds up. Its lightweight enough to not overheat me when its warmer out, but the fabric is thick enough to keep the chill off on a windy Portland day. And regardless of windy or rain, the Townshend jacket is perfect for all forms of lighter weather. Plus between the color and structure, I think it looks pretty awesome too. I had been searching for the perfect windbreaker/jacket at all sorts of sports and department stores, but they were either too light or too chunky. This jacket is that perfect in between for accompanying me on my two mile walk to work everyday. Rain or shine, it’s my new outerwear piece of choice.
