Recently Adored & a Long Awaited Update
I’ve had this post in my head for months & it feels incredible to finally have the time (& energy) to sit down, edit these photographs & write these words to all of you. Cory and I have been working on getting used to a new rhythm. Funny how life can change and evolve so rapidly. As soon as you get used to one schedule, something comes along and disrupts everything. So much change is happening around us, but it is the kind of change I have been waiting for… hoping for… praying for. There is a lot still up in the air, but as soon as I know more, you’ll know more too. Now that we’re back from our trip to London (loads of photographs to come!), we feel refreshed, inspired & ready to dive back in to Endlessly Enraptured.
A new series I’d like to introduce is “Recently Adored,” where every few weeks I’ll be sharing recent favorites: books & magazines I can’t put down, clothing I can’t help but wear on repeat, food I’ve been devouring… basically anything & everything I’ve been loving that I find worth noting.
What I’m reading:
Back in August, I was featured in a street style article in Marie Claire. Random? Absolutely! Cool, nonetheless? Absolutely! Of course I had to pick up a copy (or three) & read it from cover to cover.
Where I’m spending my time:
OH, The Ace. I go through phases with this space. I’m either there all the time (it’s in walking distance of where we live)… or not at all for weeks. Now that fall is settling in, that gorgeous lobby window light is irresistible & perfect for reading… & photo taking, of course.
What I’m wearing:
Makeup wise, I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Charlotte Tilbury. Since her line isn’t readily available in the States, I hadn’t felt the need to go out of my way to order & try her products. But when she announced her collaboration with the Norman Parkinson Archive, I knew I wanted to invest in a few products. I picked up the Color of Youth Lip & Cheek Glow & two Matte Revolution Lipsticks: 1975 Red & Miss Kensington (featured in these portraits). The main beauty question I’ve been asked lately (especially via instagram) has to be,” What color are you wearing on your nails!?” I can’t stop wearing Sephora Formula X in Paramount. It’s such a gorgeous grey green: not too dark, not too light & is a great nod to the fall season.
So, who else out there is obsessed with Madewell? Their clothes fit my lifestyle quite well. I need clothes I can make art in (& can be subject to ruin) & seamlessly wear out to meetings & whatnot. I feel like I wear these high waisted jeans at least every other day. They are SO comfortable, flattering & the most lovely dark indigo shade. Now, how perfect is this cabernet Transport Tote for fall? I just love the rich color and how much it can carry. I picked it up for my recent collaboration with Nordstrom & have been using it nonstop ever since. My oversized eyelet top is also Madewell. I basically took a chance on it and ordered it online during one of their crazy sales… & now it’s one of my favorite pieces to throw on & dress up or dress down.
Another label you’ll see over & over again in my closet is Everlane. I’ve been a fan since the company’s beginnings. It’s been so great to see them grow. When they first announced their loafers, I knew I had to have them. They suggest sizing up so that’s exactly what I did & they fit beautifully.
Both Cory and I got new glasses. It had been a few years (awful, I know) since we had gotten our eyes checked so we decided we had to stop putting it off & just go. We’ve relied on Warby Parker since we first started dating & are always impressed with the styles they offer and their amazing customer service. Cory had a problem with his lenses, and the individuals at Warby Parker didn’t stop until they were perfect. Cory picked out the sophisticated, clean Wally frames in Jet Silver . I went with The Ripley in Oak Barrel. I feel like they are a great compromise between classic & modern.
Now tell me, what have you recently adored?
